There are things we can do, it's the timing that's an issue. The wetland has been marked and isn't a problem as we're well outside its buffer zone...it being tiny. The problem is that the woman at the county doing our plan appears absolutely convinced that the fact it was very wet after we had 1 month's precipitation in 9 days means that it's "prone to flooding".
Given the entire county was under flood warnings and the bit of our land we want to build on is several feet higher than the highest bit with standing water, we don't get the concern, and she seems unable to explain it to us.
There's also several other issues, but that seems to be the main one - and while we could, theoretically, resolve them all given time, we're nearly out of time.
The house making company have - thankfully - told us that we can order right up until the 1st of May, and still expect to get the house in time... which gives us a smidge more manoeuvring room,
