Unsuccessfully Prodded, and that History Meme

I just spent an unsuccessful evening prodding a Denon UD-M50 bookshelf amp. It looks fairly new, but it's got something majorly wrong with it. The thing doesn't even reach standby. Fuses all fine, power reaching the circuits required, so I reckon an IC or a mini-teeny-fuse-that-doesn't-look-like-a-fuse has gone. It's dead, I think. Which is a shame. It wasn't what I thought it was, and nor was it fixable. So it'll probably go in the bin. *feh*.
