The list

So, I’ve got a little list of things to do when I finish my dissertation…More for me than anyone else, really.

• Sort out leak from roof
• Finish Kathryn’s Present

Finish decorating hall – consider cubbyshoething under the stairs.

• Install bracing & wiring for hall lamp shades (heavy old industrial shades)
• Finish filling / Sand walls
• Sealant ceiling and walls
• Cut and install missing trim section from salvaged trim
• Prep trim & stair rail
• Paint walls
• Put sockets and light switches back on the wall
• Paint trim & stair rail
• Prep and paint other stair rail, reinstall it

Finish Bathroom

• Prep walls
• Seal fresh filler/walls/paint
• Paint walls & ceiling
• Remove old bath taps
• Replace tile with old lead pipe peaking through
• Install new sealant around the bath
• Fit ‘new’ bath taps & install shower
• Find and install a shower screen/curtain
• Remove door and trim in preparation for:
• Prep floor for tiling
• Tile
• Make up frame for drawers to go under bath, and make drawers to go under bath
• Install frame and make sure it all works
• Tile bath-panel and drawer fronts
• Replace broken ceiling light

In the library:

• Make bookshelves for office with Kathryn
• Unpack / sort books
• Design / Make daybed / bed frame for office

In Kathryn’s office:

• Prep walls & trim
• Paint walls
• Reinstall sockets and reattach radiator, bleed, fill, etc

In the Laundry room

Lay floor tiles

Fill and paint door frame

Seal and paint bare plaster wall

Odds and Sods

• Put draught excluder around the back door
• Paint up filled areas of brick wall in kitchen / diner
• New legs on Kitchen table
• Design/Make/Buy lighting for kitchen
• Turn fridge door around so it opens the right way
• Sand filler in kitchen, touch up paint from kitchen installation
• Change filler strip that’s too short under kitchen unit
• Sand / Paint entryway

Motor House (or ‘garage’ as some would call it)

• Finish painting it inside
• Put up more shelves
• Put up security / access lights
• Sort out garage network

Garden

• Lay path
• Dig new beds and put soil down in area by garage to raise level
• Trim / hack down the many trees and massive bushes that are attempting to take over garden
• Shred remnants from above in area where we’re trying to raise the soil level
• Build deck

Projects (in no particular order)

• Revise learning piano
• Start learning guitar
• Transfer Music 500 & 5000 music to a more listenable format
• iPod dock for Valve radio
• Launch hobby business
• Convert minor to an EV
• Record more DBJ
• Learn French
• Reupholster Chaise
• Fix oscilloscope
• Make monitor stand
• Rerip all audio to FLAC
• Rip all DVDs and BluRays to media server

I’ve got someone coming to look at the sad flaking render on the back of the house, so we’ll see how that goes. Otherwise the rest of the list is for Kathryn and I… so that should keep me/us entertained for a while.
