The 1275 is a bit close to the wind, given that the 1500's used to apparently munch diffs, something of which I've only recently become aware. I actually replaced the half-shafts with toughened ones, because that was the bit that worried me more. The aim, incidentally, with changing the axle is not to change the back end geometry at all, but to make a hardier axle (in my case, I think a Volvo 240's) match the existing Minor one, in all but weight.
But the problem is when she's EV'd, she's going to sport a rather more powerful (more than twice as) motor, which will produce somewhere around 150ft/lb of torque, which will undoubtedly shred the minor's diff.
