I was about to post a wanted on freecycle, but I posted the 'offered' first. Unfortunately this means I can't actually remember what the damn 'wanted' was.

Having no memory can be terribly frustrating at times.

At any rate, today has been largely successful, at least so far. I went, with Kathryn, to her school today and chatted to 4 (yes, count them, 4) classes of small people about bones and emergency departments, and how bones heal.

I did *lots* of asking them questions, and I did lots of saying 'nooo....it's a good idea but...', and got some really very impressively correct answers. Some of the children said they wanted to be nurses (in one group); most of them wanted to be doctors though ;) As I expected, the 'questions' (particularly from the two year 3 groups) consisted mostly of sharing stories. In fact, they almost all started 'This isn't a question but...you know my brother/sister/mum/aunt/dad...' :)

Anyhow, I came back and collected the van, and headed on down to see my mum and collect Pirate Charlie.

pink motorbike frame

She's actually a lot more complete than that photo suggests, the engine and electrics are mostly attached to the frame, she's got both wheels on and handlebars too.

My mum's awesome reminder also got me into the van. I was pondering using a chunk of wood when she pointed out I still had my other set of ramps at my mum's. With a bit of shuffling they were brought out and positioned, stacked, at the back of the van. This allowed me to simply roll the bike in.

Getting it out again should be similarly simple. I'm just having a big 'ol glass of water first, because I've not drunk nearly enough. I need to fish out the manual and start stripping Cherry red for bits :( - hopefully I can get a running bike up by Monday - although that does depend on when the MZ place ship the chain and the brake light switch, for MOTs are somewhat difficult to achieve without either of those items.

I'm thinking I need to get a crate for MZ bits, as it's my intention to completely strip down the other 'zed and keep all the useful bits (and flog the rest).

I also found the Left Hand Drive frontplate for the gearbox on the Minor. It's a little scary because that's finally me deciding to make her Left Hand Drive. It's me actually starting part of the going to Canada ritual. Not that I've got a job or anything like that.

Anyhow, I must go and deposit the dayglo pink 'zed outside the house; and then commence 'trying to work out how to wire the bugger up'. I'm tempted to nick the ignition barrel wiring of cherry red - I want to nick her brakeline and brake cylinder anyhow :)

So will the new frame get painted dayglo pink to replace it?
