Arrrgh my eyes, part II.
Jun. 18th, 2004 04:24 pmSo, I have got an eye infection. It's official, I've got conjunctivitis. Which explains the itchy, gooey eye. It also means that despite not being paid I get to get up at 5:30am on a Saturday to do my shift.
Actually, I'm very grateful that the ward let me shift my shift to a Saturday, thus avoiding another painful sick-day, and it's not like I was working anyway.
However, and this is a big smelly however, it means that my work that I had scheduled for the weekend now needs to be done now, at least a bit. Which is (a) very tedious, considering I slept very badly and not nearly long enough last night and (b) leading to me wanting to scream at someone.
Performance: The student should perform the skill, demonstrating their understanding of how they practice the skill using an evidence base.
...is what it says on my not in the slightest in plain English assessment form. Now, as I understand it I have to fill in one form for *each* bullet pointed item in my Learning Outcomes. Which means that for one particular outcome I have to do 4 of these forms. Okay, not a problem. Except that it's all about communication. It's not like "observations", where I could do taking blood pressure and measuring urine. They're obviously completely different.
But "Using verbal skills to meet individual needs" and "Using appropriate language" would seem to me to be rather related. I can see myself producing 4 very, very similar forms. Feh.
Anyway, my parents will hopefully be here in the not too distant future, which might save me from continued university related pain.
